The WoSo Independent Podcast – Episode #10 – 2017 Boston Breakers Preview

In part four of the WoSo Independent 2017 NWSL Preview, Chris (@chris_awk) and Jon (@jonlipsitz) preview the Boston Breakers. Is there anywhere to go but up after a historically bad 2016 season? How effective will a promising midfield and frontline be after being stocked with top rookies? And can the defense improve enough to propel this side up the table?

As I said at the EQ:

I don’t see much (if any) improvement in defense vs 2016 for Boston.

And, based on 2016, I have no reason to suspect that Beard will get the best out of his players. Every indication is that he is a terrible coach.

So, my initial pass at a prediction: I think Boston will once again secure that last spot.

Boston has a terrible draft (relative to what they could have gotten)

    1 . Breakers — Lavelle ( M ) – Wisconsin
    3 . Breakers — Mills, K ( D/M ) – USC
    8 . Breakers — Driesse ( M ) – PSU
    9 . Breakers — Proffitt ( D/M ) – Marquette
    31 . Breakers — Prudhomme ( GK ) – USC
    38 . Breakers — Kolander ( F ) – Minnesota
