Suffering from post-WPS withdrawal? No worries, women will be playing soccer elsewhere in the world quite often. From the NCAA Tournament to Women’s World Cup qualifying to the UEFA Women’s Champions League to a spattering of international friendlies, there will be a women’s soccer game of note occurring nearly every day for the rest of the year.
Here’s a list of some of the upcoming fixtures. Please let me know if I’ve omitted anything. Also keep in mind that more international friendlies could very well be added in November and/or December particularly for national teams such as England and Sweden.
The First Round of UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship qualifying has been in progress since September 20 and will end October 21 with 16 teams progressing to the second round. Matches will be played nearly every day from now until October 21. The tournament is held on an annual basis. It will not serve as a FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier seeing as it does not fall in a U-17 year (2011).
